As a keen outdoors enthusiast I often wish I could show the places I go
to and the things I see to everyone else. When climbing I am immersed in
the environment, seeing, hearing and feeling all the mountains have to
offer, and this is what I want to bring back in my images.
Landscape photography is generally seen as a lonely career or pastime,
and I often find myself out in the early hours or at dusk with only my
dog for company, but I also find myself in popular areas during busy
periods or with close friends on mountains, and this is a huge
attraction to me. I enjoy the challenge of producing appealing images in
often adverse conditions. Dealing with low light, heat, cold, rain or
snow, sometimes in life-threatening situations is another factor which
adds to the excitement.
For me, photography is about capturing moments, glimpses of the world in
a way perhaps rarely seen, or maybe overlooked because they’re everyday
things, and making time stand still, however briefly.
