Max Lim Kok Ceng
I graduated from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Art School, in Penang, and have gone on to become a photography lecturer at The One Academy, Han Chiang College and Sego College.
Since childhood, I have loved art and photography. I got my first compact camera at the age of twelve, from my Grandpa, and later joined my secondary school photography club. Maybe this influenced me, later, to graduate from USM Art School and become a lecturer in photography.
I’ve been taking photographs for a number of years – perhaps ten and now I am a portrait, landscape, street and conceptual photographer. Photography is part of my life. My photographic style is that of nature and is perhaps a little contemporary, in time I want to further develop the creative/ artistic side, be more contemporary with my work, more conceptual.
My photographic equipment is digital. I use both a Canon EOS 5D (mk2) with an excellent resolution and very good High ISO performance and I also have the older Canon 1D (mk3). I use these Canon bodies with lenses - 16-35L f2.8, 70-200L f2.8, 24mm f1.4, 35mm f1.4L, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.2L, flash and filters. Due to my fondness for Canon, I am a Canon Official Product Specialist, and a Canon Official Photography and Cinematography speaker.
Through the years I have won several awards for excellence in photography (A.PSP and A.FIP). I am a Malaysia Tourism Photo Contest Winner (2005) and a winner in the United Nations Enviromental Photography Contest (2006), also I am a winner in the Nikon NPCI (Nikon Photo Contest International) (2008).
